1. Why I am making this blog/video?
Hi, guy, this is Jimmy. So many customer ask us about the frequency question: How to make a dip tube length of pump or sprayer to match the bottle? Can we do that for that? They used to get mislead on some blogger base the not practical nonsense information. I am also recently saw the 2 guys making a video on YouTube regarding “How to measure the FBOG dip tube length for a Pump”, I think that was not uncompleted, and not the practical working flow. Why I am saying that?
2. Why does the FBOG length of dip tube at pump or sprayer need to be longer?
Because Ideally FBOG (from bottle of gasket) length for dip tube at pump or sprayer will be need to be longer, when it comes to the matching bottle. What do I mean by that, please refer this picture of a feeding bottle as a typical example:
This dip tube are with the extra bender, so that it pump all goods out as possible as it could be. No more left over, that is by all mean for purpose of dip tube.
Here is a photo of what we made adjusting the dip tube length for the client. I make an enlarge section on the see-through window, so that you can get exactly what I mean by dip tube length till the rock bottom when you measure the FBOG length to fix the bottle.
But some time also have the customer want to keep the dip tube straight, so it could look elegant, in their opinion perhaps. But It could not pump all the goods out in the end, and more leftover on wast as below photo.
3. How to make the dip tube length to match bottle?
There are 2 way option for you reference:
3.1 choose a professional packaging solution partner.
If you order the pump and bottle, or sprayer and bottle from same a supplier, well they will usually help you to do the match dip tube of pump or sprayer job. Because they’re doing this as a whole set packaging solution, if they were a professional one which your partner were. For example, per below photo are on our best practice.
3.2 donot have professinal team to support you, or don’t want vendor know about this.
But If you order bottle and pump from the different suppliers, the most simple way to do that is to send a bottle sample to the pump supplier, ask they to do a matching length of dip tube. You can tell them to make sure the dip tube need to till the rock bottom, like the feeding bottle for example. Per our experiencing similar case, we will offer parameter feedback to the customer, including FBOG length, gasket thickness, and dip tube length .
Optional, just same as FBOG length as bottle, just keep tip tube straight, depend on what your client prefer, per below photo.
3.3 Best practice packaging solution.
In Some case you don’t want the pump or sprayer supplier to know your bottle information, due to the design were confidential by client requested. In this case you will need to measure FBOG length by yourself. And here is a tip for you if you want dip tube length got to the rock bottom, like feeding bottle, below things you need to pay attention:
1)The length from the bottom of the gasket of the bottle will need to be extra 1- 4 CM longer per our experience. Our usually best practice formulate were FBOG length + 3/4 diameter bottle length equal the FBOG length.
2)And also give these 2 parameter ( gasket thickness, and dip tube length ) to pump vendor for manufacturing, so they will make mass production according to your parameter.
Hope above this can help you. Please let me know if you have the different option, and comment below.
